Country Music Artist Gene Watson Set for Ameristar Casino’s Star Pavilion
Real country music legend Gene Watson makes his annual return to Star Pavilion at Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, MO on Saturday, February 23. Along with his 5-piece band featuring a lead guitarist, steel guitar player, bassist, piano player and drummer, Watson takes his fans on a pure joy ride through the entire five and a half decades of his fortuitous career. He launched into the business back in 1962 and made his first big break in 1975 with “Love in the Hot Afternoon.” Along with that hit, the proud Texan always treats fans to his plethora of classics such as “Paper Rosie,” “Nothing Sure Looks Good on You,” “Don’t Waste It on the Blues,” that chart-topping tune “Fourteen Karat Mind” and most definitely his most requested song, “Farewell Party.” His set the last time he was in town also featured a handful of covers from the album “My Heroes Have Always Been Country” plus “Old Roman Soldier” from his new record, “My Gospel Roots.” Truly grateful for his fan-base, he even regularly makes his way to the venue corridor post-show to meet, shake hands and sign autographs.

Tickets for Gene Watson’s concert at Star Pavilion cost between $20.00 and $35.00, and are available online via Ticketmaster, at the venue box office or by calling 816-414-7000. The venue is located inside of Ameristar Casino at 3200 Ameristar Drive, Kansas City, MO 64161. Doors open at 7:30pm, show starts at 8:30pm.
