GFRR Performed Live at Ameristar Casino in Kansas City on June 1, 2019

Iconic blues rock band Grand Funk Railroad celebrated 50 years of funk live at Star Pavilion inside of Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City on June 1, 2019. Today, the group features founding members Don Brewer (drums/lead vocals) and Mel Schacher (bass) plus Max Carl (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Bruce Kulick (lead guitar/vocals) and Tim Cashion (keyboard/vocals) since its reformation in 2000. In front of nearly sold out crowd, GFRR dazzled fans with its arena rock style that gained the band its notoriety throughout the past five decades along with those classic hits like “We’re an American Band” and “Some Kind of Wonderful.” The set even included an incredible rendition of “Second Chance,” the biggest 38 Special hit in which Carl sang lead when he was part of the group in the late ’80s. Huge ovations, singing along and waving of arms were non-stop among the standing audience.
