KC-Based Rock Bands Shooting Star & Missouri Returned to Ameristar
Kansas City rock legends and long-time associated acts Shooting Star and Missouri got together for their annual show on the Star Pavilion stage inside of Ameristar Casino on April 26, 2025. The concert outing was the fourth straight year for them appearing at the venue on the same ticket. Missouri featured founding members Lane Turner (guitar) and Bill Larson (drums) along with Dean “Deano” Foltz (bass), Rusty Crewse (guitar) and Frank Drummond (lead vocals)—Randall Platt (keyboards) was absent for the evening, but country gospel trio The Girls Next Door made a special guest appearance. Shooting Star continues to feature founding member Steve Thomas (drums) and classic member Dennis Laffoon (keyboards) alongside Todd Pettygrove (lead vocals), Janet Jameson (violin) and Chet Galloway (guitar).
