Mike Peters and The Alarm Perform Live at recordBar in Kansas City

Welsh alternative rock and new wave band The Alarm is out on tour now and scheduled to perform live in concert at recordBar in the Crossroads on Wednesday, November 7. The trek is in support of the new album “Equals” (2018), its first release of brand new music in eight years and an emotional reflection of frontman Mike Peters and his wife’s struggles with leukemia and breast cancer. “The songs were built out of what I had become,” Mike explained. “I learned a lot about myself and my relationship with Jules, and it’s all there in the music.”

Equals” comes on the heels of a string 30th anniversaries in which Mike Peters and his bandmates reworked the landmark releases from the ’80s. They re-recorded them in full and took the tunes out on the road for a full-scale world tour. That “Spirit of ’86” trek last brought The Alarm to Kansas City on September 27, 2016 for a live performance at Knuckleheads Saloon. When the band returns this November, fans can expect the setlist to include a mixture of those new tunes along with the classics, such as “The Stand,” “Sixty Eight Guns,” “Strength,” “Spirit of ’76,” “Knife Edge” and “Rain in the Summertime.” Joining Peters on stage are his wife Jules on piano and backing vocals, James Stevenson on guitar and Smiley on the drums.

Tickets for The Alarm live in concert at the recordBar cost $20.00 for general admission entrance and are available online via Eventbrite and in person at the venue box office. The recordBar is located at 1520 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64108. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm. Patrons must be 18 years of age or older to attend.
