Canadian Rock Band The Guess Who Returned to Ameristar Casino KC
Classic Canadian rock group The Guess Who made another return to Star Pavilion inside of Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, MO on October 21, 2023. It was the band’s third appearance there in less than two years after previously selling out the venue. This time around saw a bit different of a lineup than the last though. Previously absent, founding member and drummer Garry Peterson was back to much adulation from the crowd. Lead singer Derek Sharp—the band’s longest reigning frontman—was also on stage alongside guitarist Michael Staetrow. However, keyboardist Teddy Andreadis performed in place of classic member Leonard Shaw and bass guitarist Greg Smith in place of Michael Devin. Fans once again reveled in those ’60s and ’70s hits that defined their era. The set included such songs as “Shakin’ All Over,” “These Eyes,” “No Time,” “American Woman” and “Share the Land.” It also featured a few newly released tunes—still reeling here from the “People Around Me” performance!
